Front and Back Office Solution

Ferrotec have developed an automated solution for Weight Loss Organisations. The WeighPad System provides a solution for both front and back office operations. The front office system automates member processing from check-in, weigh-in and all associated reports. The information captured in the front office can then be transfer (by phone) to the back office to provide a fully integrated package. Included the back office system is a full Membership database, which provides a member’s attendance history (payments, weights etc.) added to this is a Tally database for all class tally sheets. Front Office (Class Room)

WeighPad is the latest in membership management and is specially designed for use in Weight Loss Organisations meetings. It is a compact, lightweight, fast and uses Smart Cards for membership cards. Smart Cards are the same size as credit cards, but a microchip is used instead of a magnetic strip. The system makes processing members faster and easier. The system brings a new level of security and confidentiality, only the Weigher and member see the member’s weight, file cards are not longer required and so the information is safe from “prying eyes”. WeighPad is not a computer therefore no knowledge of computers is necessary to use the system.

WeighPad not only provides a host of features for the Leader, it also provides confidentiality for the Members, only the Member and Leader have access to the Member’s Weight details. Tally sheets are calculated and produced automatically. Other reports such as Missing Members, Class Statistics, Demographics, Attendance etc. are also available. Since WeighPad is not a PC the capital costs are only a fraction of a Computer based solution. Ferrotec are aware that there are two popular methods for processing members, these are known as “1-Step” and “2-Step”. WeighPad is available for both systems.

The system also makes handling prepaid coupons simple; prepaid “Weeks/Coupons” are stored on the member’s smart card are automatically deducted as they are used, no need for paper coupons anymore!

1-Step Process Overview

The 1-Step process is where the member comes to a single point to both pay fees and then be weighed.

At the Pay & Weigh Desk

One:

Insert member’s Smart Card

Two:

See and collect the amount due and Member Steps on Scales

Three:

See Member’s weight information

Four:

Remove the member’s Smart Card

WeighPad will automatically calculate the amount due to be paid; including missed weeks, rejoins, etc. If a concession is given, the amount and the reason are recorded. WeighPad will record the payment method - Cash, Cheque, Credit Card, and Prepayment. Weighpad also handles product sales.

WeighPad will automatically calculate and display today’s weight Loss/Gain since last weigh-in and total Loss. It also shows when rewards are due, which material is due and if the member has a large weight loss/gain. It also monitors the BMI of new and existing members to ensure compliance with WW rules for accepting members.

2-Step Process Overview (As easy as 1,2,3)

In the 2-Step process, the member goes to a “check-in” desk to pay and then goes to a separate desk to be weighed. It has been proven that using the WeighPad 2-Step System (One check-in desk and one Weighing Scales) it is possible to fully process (Pay & Weigh) over 100 people in just 30 minutes.

Back Office

If you already have a back office system in place it is generally possible for WeighPad to interface with it. If you don’t have a back office system we can provide you with a number of options, as these are scalable options we will work with you to find the best solution to fit your requirements and budget.

As has been mentioned the WeighPad system is fully scalable to suit the business and requirements of Weight Watchers Operators.
